We took our cue from Mother Nature to build a lodge ‘of the earth’, with natural materials that complement the surrounding bush environment and an open design that draws your attention outside. Décor is rich yet minimal, lighting is ambient, and African design accents subtly pick up on the safari theme. Ivory Lodge awes with a natural and simple beauty, enhanced only by breathtaking river scenes.
- You will experience complete privacy when staying at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge: each luxury villa is set apart by some twenty metres. Your spacious bedroom is connected to an even larger living area by means of a sun deck. This is the perfect place to wind down from all excitement experienced during a typical safari day: a large comfy sofa faces an open fireplace. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls facilitate a wonderful view over the surrounding bushveld and Sabi River. The bathroom is a feast for the eyes and is equipped with a free standing bathtub, as well as both indoor and outdoor showers. You will also appreciate your very own heated plunge pool situated on the viewing deck: perfect for warm African days. You may be one of the lucky few who sees an elephant wandering about on the banks of the river. Now this is an African safari at its absolute best.

Day 2: GAME DRIVE
Proceed for a Morning Game Drive.
At Lion Sands Ivory Lodge you will be guided by extremely professional and knowledgeable field guides and trackers during safari activities. They will make sure that your safari experience not only meets but also exceeds your expectations. Game drives are conducted in open 4x4 safari vehicles. Morning game drives have a distinct character than late afternoon game drives allowing you to see different species of wildlife in an ever changing settting. Chances of seeing the complete Big 5 are exceptionally high in this part of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. The area around Lion Sands is famous for its incredible number of leopard sightings. So if you are up for a luxury safari adventure, and would like to spot the elusive leopard, Lion Sands Ivory Lodge may very well be the place for you.
